Protelindo And Petra University are Rehosting a Digital Literacy Program to Assist Teachers In Developing Engaging And Modern Lesson Plans

Malang, East Java - PT Profesional Telekomunikasi Indonesia (Protelindo) continues to prove its commitment to making positive contributions to society through corporate social responsibility (CSR) activities, one of which is in the field of education. Its show by the holding of the "Digital Literacy" program for teachers in Malang, East Java at the end of 2023. This CSR activity is re-collaborating with Petra University - Surabaya, in the form of training to operate digitalized devices as well as online exploration of teaching materials and literature references, in order to support the learning process for students. 16 teachers from SMAK Pujiarjo - Malang Regency, SMPK Peniwen - Malang, SD Brawijaya 1 – Malang Regency, SMP PGRI 8 – Malang Regency, and Bina Cendika Vocational School - Malang participated in the event, which was held on November 24, 2023, at SMK Bina Cendika, Malang.

“The digital literacy exercises we're doing today with teachers in Malang are a part of our three-time partnership with Protelindo. We want to develop teachers by providing training on how to build interesting digital content so that teachers are motivated and have more capacity to face a generation that demands learning modules with interesting and not boring concepts." Stated Felix Pasila, Lecturer in the Department of Electrical Engineering at Petra Christian University in Surabaya.

On this occasion, Protelindo also gave the attendees ten laptops, which they used for the training itself. Additionally, every school will use this laptop as a teaching tool.

"This activity is beneficial for teachers, especially in Malang, to support ‘the Kurilkulum Merdeka Program’ currently being launched by the government with an emphasis on student literacy. Students can become disinterested in traditional teaching approaches, but this training invites them to develop their creativity in producing more engaging lesson plans." In addition, Frandika, a teacher at SD Brawijaya 1 Malang, mentioned during the training exercises.

Protelindo hopes that this activity will give educators an excellent chance to hone their digital literacy abilities in order to produce fresh, cutting-edge teaching resources that will benefit students' learnings.
